LPU Researchers Come up with Fitness Device
Researchers at Lovely Professional University (LPU) have come up with a befitting device which can prevent people from dangerous health issues. The device is a ‘bracelet’ which is an Internet of Things (IoT) wireless-device, comfortable to wear. A faculty member at the LPU School of Computer Sciences and Engineering, Dr. Ramandeep Singh, along with his team, has invented this bracelet-type wearable fitness alert device, which ensures that the person wearing it does not miss out on scheduled morning walks, jogging, yoga, gym or allied activities.
The user gets continuous vibrations and beeps from the gadget alerting and promoting the wearer to reach the programmed destination. Being GPS monitored, the vibrations and beeps stop only when the wearer reaches the destined spot. The device ensures that the wearer is not lazy in following the alerts. The device motivates the wearer to always fulfil the daily exercise commitments. Through the continuous usage, the enforced behaviour turns into a habit, which leads to healthy body and mind.
