Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University or better known as JSS University is a respected leader in education, research and patient care. Located in the beautiful and historic Mysore, a city in India's southwestern Karnataka state, JSS Mahavidyapeetha is one of the very few education societies in the country, which instigated the transition from elite to mass education. In 1954 when JSS Mahavidyapeetha established a high school, the availability of education institutions in the rural areas was one of the major challenges in front of the students in the southern part of the country. With this reason, JSS Mahavidyapeetha started building institutions that can cater to the rural population and now it is one of the largest education societies in the country with Cr-ches, Primary schools, High schools, Pre-university and Degree Colleges, Law, Engineering, Medicine, Dental Sciences and Pharmacy, providing all classes of the society easy access to educational opportunities. Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), USA certification for the Pharm D program and accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA, NABL) and ISO-9001:2008 certification well reflects the quality education system of JSS University, both nationally and internationally. The University has TIFAC-CORE in herbal drugs approved by DST, BA/BE centre approved by DCGI, Drug Testing Laboratory approved by State Government, Faculty Training Centre, Industry Institution Interaction Cell, Entrepreneurship Cell approved by AICTE. He had pioneered the cause of promoting "Pharmacy Practice" concept in India and has the unique honour of having introduced postgraduate program in "Pharmacy Practice" and "Pharm D" programs in India. Dr. Suresh is also the recipient of the prestigious ` Eminent Pharmacist Award` of the Indian Pharmaceutical association, the `ML Schroff award` of the Indian Hospital Pharmacists Association and the `KC Chatterjee award` of the Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association. He continues to strive to uplift this facet of pharmacy profession by closely working with other global leaders.
