Jagriti Yatra Inspires Young Indian Entrepreneurs
Jagriti Yatra is a 15 days, 8000 km nationwide train journey that inspires and supports entrepreneurs among the youth of small towns and villages of India. It is the world's largest train journey, which takes selected entrepreneurial youth to meet the role models. Jagriti Yatra attracts 17,000 registrations every year of which 450 of the best are selected for the journey. In the six years that Jagriti Yatra has completed, it has created an average of 50 enterprises a year across myriad sectors of healthcare, knowledge, agriculture, housing, water, arts, tourism and others.
This year Jagriti Yatra carries 450 enterprising yatris from 27 states of India and 15 countries. Among these, 46 percent are from rural and 33 percent from semi-urban areas. "Jagriti's vision is to build India through enterprise. The Yatra is our first horizon program to achieve this. Our 2600+ strong ex-yatri network across the country is becoming a formidable force working to create enterprises in the small towns and villages of India," says Raj Krishnamurthy, Board Member, Jagriti Yatra. Departed from Mumbai on December 24, 2014, the journey will end on January 8, 2015 by passing through major cities India, which includes Chennai, Vishakhapatnam, Delhi, Ahmedabad and many more.
Valeo Innovation Challenge 2015
Valeo is kicking off its second "Valeo Innovation Challenge 2015" contest. The competition invites students from engineering, technology and science schools and universities worldwide to take an active role in automobile innovation. Their task is to come up with automotive solutions that will make cars smarter and more intuitive by 2030. Each team will be given 5,000 Euro to put their idea into practice and build a functioning demonstrator and winning team will take home a 100,000 Euro prize.
