IMI, Bhubaneswar has a world-class sprawling, brand new and fully residential campus of 16 acres. The aesthetically designed exteriors, wide-open spaces and large well-appointed Classrooms, syndicate rooms, multi-use Auditoriums, state-of-the-art Library, Computer Centre and self-sufficient MDP Centre with AC Lecture and Seminar Halls are truly the hallmark of the new campus. In short, with cutting-edge technology blending effortlessly with serene and verdant surroundings, the ambience at IMI, Bhubaneswar is truly outstanding and highly conducive for learning. With a capacity to accommodate over 70 students, the Wi-Fi enabled lecture halls have access to the latest presentation equipment such as DLP multimedia projectors, laptops and state-of-the-art audio system. The newly built Bhubaneswar campus became operational in 2011 and is another campus of IMI, Delhi that was established in collaboration with IMI Geneva (now IMD Lausanne) in 1981. The institute is in the process of inking MoUs with some reputed institutions like Copenhagen Business School, Denmark and University of Waikato, New Zealand. Senior Professors from both these institutes visited IMI, Bhubaneswar campus recently in this regard and interacted with the faculty and students to explore the possibility of international collaborations. The institute also invites the faculties and experts from national and international institutes and industries respectively to disseminate their knowledge and experiences from their respective areas of expertise to the students and sensitize them with the global environment.
Innovative Curriculum
"The academic rigor is ensured through a curriculum developed after due diligence and vetted by patrons from industry. The curriculum for each course offered is shared with the students prior to the start of the semester. It is followed with dedication to ensure significant value addition," says Prof. Ramesh Behl. The faculties of IMI use case method of teaching and simulations frequently to develop a dialogue with the students. Along with that, the institute provides an intensive corporate grooming where top corporate thought leadership from the country and abroad visit the institute regularly. They deliver guest lectures, chair knowledge sessions, or preside over workshops to prepare students to be corporate ready and make them employable. As a result, the State Government of Odisha acknowledged this campus as a premier institution from where Odisha Government would recruit management graduates for the state Public Sector Units (PSUs).
The institute also trains the students in domain knowledge and grooms them in soft skills, which enhances the competence of students. "Our rigorous teaching pedagogy exposes them to managerial challenges even before they pass out. Their participation and management of various clubs and activities, including placements and admissions, puts them on better footing in front of the interview board," adds Prof. Ramesh Behl. With all the efforts, the institute's placement figures approach almost 100 percent. IMRB, Capgemini, ADP, Havells, Saregama, Phillips Carbon, First Source, Kotak Securities, Spencers Retail, Toyota Tsusho, Mahindra Finance are some of the companies, which recruited their future employees from this new generation campus.

IMI is India's first corporate sponsored institution established with support from RPG Enterprises, Nestle, ITC, SAIL, Tata Chemical, BOC, Williamson Magor and many more. The Bhubaneswar campus carries forward this golden tradition. The institute regularly invites industry experts to share their experiences with students for each course. More than 50 top executives belonging to various industries visit the campus annually to share their experiences with the students. IMI, Bhubaneswar campus pass-out students are also part of a 4000-strong alumni network of IMI called "Achievers," comprising of CEOs and VPs of various companies (Ranbaxy, Arvato, Indus Towers, Yes Bank to name a few), who are regularly invited for interaction.
