Ingredients for a successful interview

John Angami
The biggest obstacle to be cleared before getting employed is cracking the interview. A formal meeting between the employer with a resource requirement at their company and the candidate .The objective is to screen candidates and find the most suitable possible person to work with. Interviews can be really intense and stressful, it can really test the mental and physical strength of a candidate and preparing for it too adds up to that pressure, but with some simple guidelines to keep in mind, any interview can be cracked. To crack them, goals, skills, abilities, and backgrounds should be clearly visible to the employer, also keeping in mind, the need to have the right attitude, a positive outlook, enthusiasm and good communications skills. The most successful interview responses focus on the hiring manager's needs, framing replies that demonstrate understanding their problems or points, makes a big difference when competing with many other qualified candidates. Go anticipating less conventional interview questions, it helps perform under pressure.

Start by giving the best first impression, wear something sharp with polished shoes, keep all the files organized and get to the interview on time or even earlier. Take plenty of time to research the role and the organization well, study on what the employer needs and focus on how you fit in. Read on current affairs too, they may be a topic of discussion. Find out what the prospective employer is looking for, anticipate the questions that might be asked and then prepare to answer them concisely. Rehearse the interview as many times as possible, it will help with the flow when the actual one takes place, practice positive visualization along with it too because it makes everything come out in a more natural and genuine way.

When the employer knows, what the candidate wants to covey that becomes an advantage. Take control and play the key attributes very confidently. Perhaps the single most important factor that alters the course of the whole interview, is to get comfortable while offering to get the respected job done in the most efficient way.

Communication skills are a must, train to polish your communication and body language. The mock interview is more than just a chance to work out interview jitters. It is an opportunity to practice the interviewing technique and answers in a live simulation. It is also a chance to hear constructive feedback from someone who can guide and improve the interviewing style and presentation. Just one mock interview will result in a marked improvement in the interviewing and communication skills. Have a mock interview set, sit straight, maintain a comfortable posture and then communicate.

A very small and pivotal ingredient that many tend to not add in their recipe is getting a good night's sleep. When everything is done, prepared, and built, sleeping in peace to catch some proper rest is a must. Sleep well the night before the interview, it helps to calm the nerves and settle everything down. Now that the homework is done and all is set, taking on the interview will be easy to handle and with more enthusiasm. And that's how interviews turn into to job offers.

Write a simple thank you note after the interview and wait.
