Infrastructure: Hindustan University
Providing an all encompassing infrastructure
Over the last three decades the population of urban India has increased drastically, in turn increasing the pool of opportunities for individuals throughout the country. One of the key reasons why the youth of this country migrate from the rural to the urban areas is the grade of infrastructure that exists in the urban cities. Infrastructure dictates our way of life today. Better connectivity and resources means more time for constructive developmental activities. This has been the major philosophy behind the development of urban India. The same applies for educational institutions too.
A recent study has highlighted that there is a stark contrast in satisfaction levels between students attending schools with good quality infrastructure as compared with those in schools with poor infrastructure. Similarly, high levels of well-being were recorded among individuals exposed to good infrastructure. The differences remain consistent regardless of student characteristics such as gender, age, grade or type of education. Hindustan University is one such educational haven that understands the importance of this crucial aspect that permeates through all levels of education. "It is very important for the students to have an all round development, and for that we provide them with all the amenities that they could wish for, in any area where their passions lie," says Dr Anand Jacob Verghese, Pro Chancellor, Hindustan University. Hindustan University, started in the year 1985, is one of the most sought after Educational Institutions in Tamil Nadu, reputed for its highly qualified and experienced faculty, excellent infrastructural facilities for co-curricular and extracurricular activities and for their understanding of how infrastructure pervades all aspects of an individual's education. 30 years of excellence in the field of education this institution strides forward to create a niche as the top notch institution in the nation for its excellent ambience, infrastructure and innovative courses.

Building a Quality of Repute
Hindustan group of Institutions, the brainchild of its Founder and Chairman, Late Dr. K. C. G. Verghese, is an innovation driven institution. This is headed by the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) of the University. The key aim of CIE is to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across the university. CIE is guided by Mr. Dorai Todla, imorph, who is rated as one of the Top-10 Indian role models in the start-up domain. The centre also actively collaborates with, Micro Small Medium Enterprises Training Centre (MSME), EDI, National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) and TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs). The center's primal function is to provide exposure to the students. At present About 10 students of the current batch are in the process of giving shape to their enterprise idea and 5 students from the batches of 2012 -13 and 2013-14 have chosen to be entrepreneurs and have promoted their own ventures. Another crucial aspect where HU succeeds is in fulfilling one of the most important functions of a good educational institution - collaborations with other institutions of repute. "Our MoUs with some of the leading foreign universities brings in a global orientation to the programme with its student exchange programmes," says Dr. Verghese. This widens the knowledge horizons of the students and readies them to take on the challenges and opportunities of the globalized industry environment. These essential interactions not only allow the students to be exposed to the standards of excellence in other parts of the world but it also breeds healthy competition. As an addendum to the same, The School of Management also organizes several guest lectures, workshops, seminars and industrial visits for the benefit of the students and enhances their networking with faculty and industrial partners across the nation and globe. The caliber of this institute to inculcate a fundamental concept and implement it seamlessly makes Hindustan University a highly sought-after one for MBA candidates throughout the country.
