Two students from Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-A) have landed lucrative jobs at Facebook, a well known social networking site. Their package is Rs 60 lakhs per annum. MD Tiwari, the institute director, said that Ankit Gupta and Yogesh Sharma who are pursuing final year B-Tech at the institution are the lucky individuals who have been recruited by Facebook. He also added that their batch-mate Divanshu Garg has been chosen as the Google Student Ambassador to represent the institution for the upcoming academic year.

With over 70 percent of the students procuring dream packages of above Rs 5.5 lakhs, the institute has found a solid ground on the international IT map.

Other companies that recruited students from IIIT included prestigious names such as Google, Microsoft, Walmart, Yahoo, Amazon, and Verizon. These companies not only recruited students but also offered Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) to pre-final year students.

This is not the first time that such phenomenal packages have been offered to the students at IIIT Allahabad campus. Another student from the institute has also been hired by Facebook, however the package details have not been disclosed as yet. Microsoft also recruited students for a package of Rs 18 lakh per annum, while Walmart offered a package of Rs 22 lakh. Many other reputed companies like IBM, TCS, and Sapient also visited the campus and recruited the students in bulk. With such dream packages being offered to graduates, Indias job scenario for engineering students is beginning to look up.
