Education beyond the Boundaries

Travelling abroad for higher education has been a status symbol in the Indian metropolitan communities. However, the emergence of middle class families who are ready to spend their lifetime savings to educate their children abroad has also fuelled the number of Indian student travellers in the recent years. In 2015, the number of students from India going abroad came up to 360,000, recording a growth of 17.8 percent. For students who consider a high profile job as a viable option, a degree from a top foreign university tends to be a valuable choice to make, as the acceptability for such programs among corporate companies are much higher than the Indian degree programs.

Over the years, we have been assisting millions of Indian students to find their dream institute and academic program through our various surveys on universities and colleges. As one of the few magazines in the country that extensively covers the latest trends in the higher education sector, we get numerous requests from our student readers to provide information on universities of global stature. With a focus on education beyond boundaries, we have worked on to indentify the major universities around the world where Indian students can pursue their higher education dreams.

Based on the interests of our student readers and other evaluations parameters, our research wing has shortlisted some of the best universities and colleges that are providing world-class education across the globe. In this issue, we present to you "International University/Institute of the Year, 2016." We strongly believe that our features of prominent international universities and institutes will be a key resource for students in India who are looking for a quality education abroad. On the cover, we feature, University of Surrey, which is celebrating 125 Years of excellence in education with more than 14, 000 students and 3000 staffs in its campuses.
