DSMS College: A 'Student-Centric' Educational Institution Where Every Care Is Taken To Groom The Students 'Multi Dimensionally'

Offering a diverse portfolio of niche tourism products - geographical diversity, world heritage sites, cruises, adventure, medical, wellness, sports, ecotourism, film, rural and religious tourism, India has evolved to be a large market for travel and tourism at present. Emerging as a lucrative domain for adventurous and energetic professionals who love challenges,the travel and tourism industry has lately been arresting the attention of many youngsters as a prolific career option. DSMS has emerged as a premium educational institution in the field of travel and tourism imparting quality education and industry-relevant skills to cast the young minds of today into the prominent industry stalwarts of tomorrow. DSMS started its journey way back in the year 1990 with a humble and honest approach to rightfully impart skilled training in the field of hotel management.Soon it qualified to have been accorded approval from AICTE in the year 1997 to run three year full-time Diploma in Hotel Management Catering and Applied Nutrition. This flagship course of DSMS started gaining commendable acceptability as well as recognition, encouraging the institution to start short term Diploma courses in the various fields of hospitality studies.
DSMS was the first institution outside Kolkata to have started a vocational school (10+2) affiliated with the ISC board in the field of hotel and catering management. With more and more demand from the Hospitality and Tourism Industry, DSMS introduced four more Bachelor�s Degree courses of three and four years [BHMCT, BHSM, BTTM, BBA (T&H)] duration with the affiliation of MAKUT, formerly known as the West Bengal University of Technology and University of Burdwan. �It was during this time, that DSMS tied up with Schiller University, Switzerland to have a student and teacher exchange program which added to its existing pedagogy, an international flavor and prestige, thus enabling our students with international exposure and thereby empowering them to go global.
It was during the beginning of year 2004-05, that DSMS started introducing various undergraduate and post-graduate first-degree professional courses in the fields of Business Administration, Computer Application, and Healthcare & Hospital Management which continued till 2015. As per the current industry requirement courses offered now are Hotel Management, BBA, BCA, and BBA (Hospital Management) under the affiliation to Kazi Nazrul University (KNU), a nascent university in the district of Paschim Bardhaman of West Bengal�, shares Siuli Mukherjee, Member Secretary, DSMS.
