Hyderabad based David Memorial Education Society is all set to celebrate its golden jubilee next year. Sprouted from a single-teacher school with 19 students in 1968, the society today has seven highly reputed institutions, offering primary to postgraduate education. Among them, the best in class in their businesses is David Memorial Business School (DMBS). In the past two decades, the institute has made substantial contributions to the management studies and has educated some of the finest leaders who are now spearheading many ventures across the globe. Affiliated to Osmania University and approved by AICTE, DMBS offers two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management with specialization in Marketing, Finance and Human Resource.

"Since there is a shift in the way management education is taught and in the way the students learn, we have chosen an unconventional way of teaching here. We have much more to offer than a regular brick and mortar institute, and we are working hard to reach the zenith of offering management studies," says Nandini Naidu, Director, David Memorial Business School. The first institute in Hyderabad to introduce Tablets for the students to use in the classroom was DMBS. By collaborating with top knowledge and technology partners such as Edutor, Butterfly Fields and Cengage Learning, the institute has managed to bring the most superior content to students. "The new technologies have enormous potential to effect change in the higher education system and we are trying to harness it," adds Naidu.

While the conventional setting of the lecture hall continues to form the bedrock of management education systems, technological interventions have given a perfect shape for the DMBS curriculum

While the conventional setting of the lecture hall continues to form the bedrock of management education systems, technological interventions have given a perfect shape for the DMBS curriculum. "We have been very keen while delivering our curriculum and have divided the four semesters with important aspects including Personality, Academics, Specialization and Placements," says Naidu. The PGDM program at DMBS begins with a self-assessment called the Pre-PGDM, wherein students are analyzed based on their personality. It happens to be a unique segment and very unlike in comparison to the ones offered by other institutes. "Grooming the students with a number of aspects such as communication etiquettes, dressing manners, and many more are a part of the initial days of the program," adds Naidu. Soft Skill Training, English Language Training and Leadership Development under the label of Diploma in Life Skills and Advanced English Language are extra miles that a student would cover during their first year of the program at DMBS.

The institute believes in creating leaders for the management industry and thus imparts a certain level of skills as a pre-placement activity in addition to the regular academic errands. This combines a number of specialized programs such as Big Data, Social Marketing, Employee Management and certification programs including SAP, Six Sigma and ERP. The Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) further improves the students' credibility as managers and enables them to be ready for the placements by the end of their program. For the budding businessmen, the institute conducts an event called 'Venture Capitalist'where students, entrepreneurs and experts can meet and brainstorm about the ideas that would disrupt the market in future.

The DMBS campus is perpetually in motion with many actives that happen outside the classroom."Regularly, we organize talks and workshops with industry experts as guest lecturers. We also have a program called 'Motion Learning Skills' wherein we record videos of guest lectures, and CEO interviews taken by our own students," claims Naidu. The institute has tie-ups with over 400 Multi-National Companies and provides 12 Months guaranteed real-time Internships opportunities. Thus, a number of organizations pool in for recruiting students of this institute, making a 97 percent placement record. With an average emolument of Rs. 2.7 and highest of Rs. 4.5 LPA, students have received offers from top-notch organizations such as Amazon, Karvy, HSBC and many more.

Today, DMBS plans to tie-up with International universities, which would help them to improve the standards of education. While many more such tie-ups are in line to obtain more opportunities for their students, Naidu concludes, "We make students independent and confident so that their survival becomes stable in the industry and David Memorial Business School will continue to do so for the generations to come."
