Preparing Innovative Leaders

The curriculum of its two-year residential MBA program has a very practical management teaching methodology, inclusive of courses, experiential learning method Live-in-Labs (LILA), business research project, 8 weeks summer internship, andadditional certifications from organizations like IBM, SHRM, SAP etc.

IBM has collaborated with ASB Coimbatore to establish Amrita-IBM Business Analytics Lab. The company also trains its faculty members in Business Analytics, who will in turn provide training to studentsthat will result in certification in Business Analytics.

\\\"In the age of digital transformation, when billions of data are produced every day, training students on the quantitative and analytical skills is imperative. Associating with a top notch company like IBM would be the kind of experience companies\\\' look forward from our students,\\\" Dr. Raman says.

The experiential learning method LILA exposes students to the problems faced by the rural communities in India and enables the students to put theory-into-practice by generating innovative solutions to the problems. They directly interact, observe and study, while living in the rural communities. This novel approach not only encourages students to develop and implement their own sustainable business projects, but also embeds value in students, a prime motto of the college.

On the other hand, the Business Research Project focuses to build on the interest and willingness of students to learn through a project over a longer duration and adds significantly to a deeper understanding of management discipline. For the added research inquisitiveness in students, ASB has made it mandatory for the students to present papers at conferences. S. Vijalakshmi, a student from Class of 2013 represented India at ESOMAR-APAC 2015, Singapore.

For the students and faculty craving an international exposure, the college has facilitated student and faculty exchange programs with international institutions like Telecom Ecole De Management, France; University of Groningen, Netherlands; Deakin University, Australia; University of Porto, Portugal etc.

The summer internship equips students with better decision-making abilities, target-oriented solutions and more. ASB students from the class of 2014 did their internships in prestigious organizations like RBI, ISRO, Honda, ITC, Qatar Steel, IFMR, Future Group, L&T, Tata Steel, Nestle, Philips, Pepsi Co., O&M, Barakat, India Ratings (Fitch Group), Honeywell, Mars International etc., a sheer evidence of the college\\\'s placement success.

With regard to placements, Student and Faculty placement committees work in conjunctionat ASB. The University also has its own division Corporate Industry Relations (CIR) that takes care of the skill development and placements of the students. The contribution of its strong 1800+ alumni network to placement is commendable, with many of the alumni visit campus and train students with skills expected by the organization. The result is a consistent 100% placement for the college. Offering a diverse job profiles, ranging from business analysts to relationship managers, national and international companies have acknowledged the quality of ASB students. In the previous placement season, around 81 companies visited the campus. Rs. 13.6 lakhs was the highest salary, with six international and 16 dual placements marking the success. This years\\\' placement spree has just begun with Deloitte and Idea Cellular.

Equally valued to the placement is the trend of entrepreneurship choice of students. Successful entrepreneurship ventures, like Chomsha, Eduseva, CollegeKhabar and SocialChamps are glowing evidences of ASB Entrepreneurship. Two courses - Innovation in Entrepreneurship and Managerial Values and Business Ethics are mandatory in the curriculum. Besides, Amrita Technology Business Incubator (Amrita TBI), a non-profit incubator supported by Government of India and Amrita University provides assistance for necessary investments to begin entrepreneurship. Since its inception in 2008, Amrita TBI has incubated 19 start-ups, mentored 105, built 25 products, filed for four patents and trained 4,900 students to date and have incurred zero per cent loss from their investments.

\\\"An aspect which is setting our students apart from their peers, is the emphasis on education of life.
