Chelyabinsk State University: Practising International Educational Standards To Train Future Professionals

Guided by the major principles of mutual understanding and respect for human beliefs, ideas and intentions, support and guidance in choosing the learning path and acquisition of highly professional skills and field knowledge, Chelyabinsk State University is the first classic university to be established in Chelyabinsk in 1976. Set up with the vision to train future professionals in most sought-after fields and following international educational standards, CSU has over 200 programs taught at 19 faculties including Vocational programs, Bachelor Degree programs, Specialist Degree programs, Master Degree programs, Postgraduate (Ph.D) programs, and Higher Doctorate (Post Ph.D) programs.

Striving to meet topical educational and career demands, the University institute offers up-to-date and practice-oriented programs including Medical Biochemistry taught at the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine, Computer Science and Information Technologies and Software Engineering at the Institute of Information Technologies, Genetics and Microbiology at the Biological Faculty and Computer Security delivered at the Faculty of Mathematics.

Chelyabinsk State University has over 50 Postgraduate (Ph.D.) is such fields as Information Technologies and Computer Science, Biological Sciences, and Clinical Immunology and Allergology. Postgraduate students majoring in Information Technologies and Computer Science study internet applications, software engineering and managing databases while the Biological Science Programs at CSU trains future professionals inradiobiology and microbiology with career prospects across research institutes, clinics, diagnostic centres, laboratories and pharmaceutical companies. Those studying Clinical Immunology and Allergology at CSU vest their focus on the immune systems and disorders, diagnostic, preventive and treatment methods associated with immune system disorders.

Nurturing Students for Higher Competitiveness

Chelyabinsk State University is more than just a university, it is a place where everyone can find something for one’s liking and enjoy a multi-faceted student life. With more than 700 students from 30 countries studying principal and additional educational programs at CSU, the institute is the preferred choice for students amongst many international countries. “For non-Russian speaking international students, their educational journey at our University begins with an academic year of Russian Preparatory Course which includes intensive studies of the Russian language, Russian country studies, and classes on Russian history. In addition, the students willing to continue their studies in Russia are welcome to master the basic courses in their chosen field of studies, such as liberal arts (Literature, History, Social Studies) or natural sciences (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology) before entering further educational programs. Our University also welcomes those students who have successfully completed their pre-entry studies and provide further support on their path to Bachelor’s, Master’s or Postgraduate degrees”, shares Sergey Taskaev.

Committed to providing support to international students on every step of their learning path, right from their application to CSU, they are assisted by the members of International Department issuing an invitation for visa if required, providing information on University programs, campus and social life, and providing adaptation guidance and support during the first weeks after arrival. The international students coming to master Russian and taking pre-study courses enjoy a range of university events. The University offers accommodation in a Student Dormitory, which, adjacent to one of Administration Buildings was recently included into the International Campus with a Residence Assistant and Student Council in place to provide information and assistance in everyday life.

Additionally, for students pursuing bachelor or master’s degrees, Chelyabinsk State University offers practical training in a partner company. The future translators and interpreters can take internships at translation agencies, students mastering computer sciences work for IT-companies, and future archaeologists join professional archaeological groups. Acting as a bridge between future alumni and labour market, the University also arranges annual Career Fairs joined by working-life professionals and business representatives searching for prospective employees with a particular range of skills and knowledge. As for Indian students, they are highly valued in Russia and are well-known for their interest in IT, economics, management, and medicine.

Better than the Rest

Expanding its reach across international boundaries, CSU is welcoming more international students on campus each year, reaching a total of 4,500 international students in 2019-2020, including students from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan, and Belarus, China, Egypt, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Cameroon, Congo, Nigeria, Soudan, Senegal, Morocco, Algeria, Mali and many more. As a member of the Association of Classical Universities of Russia, the Eurasian Universities Association, and International Association of Universities created under the auspices of UNESCO, CSU has been ensilage din cooperation with over 50 partner organizations including universities, institutes, and research centres in Europe, Asia and neighbouring countries.

It is a life-long journey of accumulating knowledge, acquiring skills, and reaching for success.
