Campus to Corporate
"One engineering degree is enough for a life time. I am done with my studies." Majority of our engineering students come out of the campus with this sort of defeatist mindset. Recent studies show that, only 21 percent of young men and women aged 18 to 23 are enrolled for higher education, which is again not offering any positive support to the interest of young India's higher education dreams. Then, what are the plans of our future generations? In a recent discussion with Higher Education Review Magazine, HR Head of India's one of the leading corporate companies opined, "I suggest our undergraduate engineering students to work after their Bachelor's Degree. Let them understand the industry first before they go for higher education." While, reading such statistics and opinions together, it is evident that the number of students looking for a job immediately after their undergraduate degree is on its peak now.
On the receiving end, the industry complains that, out of the millions of engineering graduates, which the country is churning out each year, only 20 percent are employable. Therefore, the country is suffering from huge waste of human and financial resources. Here at Higher Education Review, we understand that, there is an urgent need to analyze the effectiveness of current education system in the country in terms of employability of students. Thus, under the name of 'Campus to Corporate,' we are coming up with a list of engineering colleges in the country, which have been showcasing some outstanding performances in building the much needed workforce for the country. The maiden focus of this listing is to provide valuable checklists to select the right engineering institute for the students, who want an immediate jump from campus to corporate. Our mission would be more than a mere success, if the managements of various technical institutions could take an inspiration to make better a prototype for their teaching methods by watching the success sagas of the institutes that we have described in the next few pages.
For a comprehensive output, our expert panel of educationalists, HR recruiters, and our Editorial team evaluated stringent parameters such as pre-placement activities, Industry- Institute relation, updated curriculum, In-Campus placements, Placement quality and many more. Each of them were assigned a score based on their importance and cumulative score for all the parameters were given an overall data score. Eventually, this list is the final product of our extensive research and we sincerely hope that our initiative will assist the students and institutes from all over the country in their educational journey and broaden their horizons and grasp better opportunities.
