B School Survey - 2017

HER Team
In India, an institute's national outlook matters, especially in the business education sector. How can a management institute attract the very highest caliber of faculty members and students in the country if it fails to look beyond its own domestic borders? Both the diversity of an institute's student body and its academic collaborations with organizations of national and international repute, are the indicators of how proactive an institution really is. Considering these factors, we have calibrated important performance parameters to produce one of the most comprehensive B-School rankings in India - Beyond IIMs.

While the number of students aspiring for management education is rising exponentially with every passing year and mushrooming number of institutions to assist them - many with innovative methodologies - it has become an tough task to pick out the best brands in the management education arena - the ones that can give IIMs a run for their money. Today, Higher Education Review's annual special issue on B-Schools is a wake-up call for all the stakeholders in this business education. Started in 2014 by listing Top 50 B-Schools in the country, last three editions of 'Beyond IIMs B-School Survey'have been very successful. It has also helped us immensely to get more nominations from all over the country.

Eventually, we have strengthened our approach to analyze the performance of management colleges. A few B-schools were very proactive last year in terms of adapting to the changing environment and thus have moved up the ranks. In this fourth edition - 'Beyond IIMs B-School Survey 2017', we have ranked B-Schools by combining the scores of a perception survey with the addition of a factual survey, which is based on the data inputs provided by the institutes. In the factual survey, we have divided the scores among different aspects as shown in the info graphic to come up with a total score. We have also included the untold stories of some of these B-schools and we strongly believe that the survey ideologies and methodologies followed by the institutes will be able to inspire other institutions in the country to drive on a better path and help the nation to produce next generation leaders.
