The parent body which runs the college is Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society (MCES), Azam Campus, Camp, Pune. Dr P.A. Established in 1994 and named after Hon'ble Late Adv. Mr. Abdul Kadir Khan, A.K.K. New Law Academy is situated at Azam Campus which is at the heart of Pune City with a pleasing surrounding spread over 24 acres. A conglomeration of 31 various educational institutions, Azam Campus caters to the needs of around 30,000 students right from primary school to postgraduate and research level in the field of Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Education, Law, Pharmacy, Medicine,
Dentistry, Management, Architecture, Hotel Management, and more. The college also comprises of best infrastructure facilities such as its own building with Classrooms, Library, Reading room, Skill Development Centre, MootCourt cum Conference Hall, Administrative Office, Staff Room, Common Room for Girls, Canteen with modern multi-stored buildings designed and constructed to give the best educational atmosphere and hostel complex for boys and girls separately.
The college is approved by Bar Council of India, Permanently Affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, and aided by Government of Maharashtra. M. C. E. Society's A.K.K. New Law Academy is recognized under Section 12(f) & 12(B) of UGC Act, 1956, and has been reaccredited by NAAC. While initially the institute just offered a three-year LL.B. course, B.A.LL.B.course was added to the offering in the year 2003-04, LL.M. was added in 2009-10 and Ph.D. in 2013-14.

New Law Academy has empanelled a good number of retired judges, practicing lawyers, retired professors and eminent scholars to recommend and improve the methods of teaching, providing structured inputs. The well-qualified and experienced full-time and visiting faculties have been playing an instrumental role in providing access to the students to become potential employers and avail the finest of the related opportunities in this regard. "We also have specially designed moot court hall to give real courtroom thrill to the students. Ours is the only College in India which was selected by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission New Delhi, for conducting its Circuit Bench proceedings from 11th March to 15th March, 2019 and the same was held in the Moot Court Hall of our College. Our college teachers guide and help the students to develop communication skills, effective research skills, analyzing and solving complex legal problems, and giving extra coaching to the students apart from the regular curriculum for preparation for JMFC exams and NET/SET exams. Further, the college is involved in organizing seminars, guest lectures and workshops on regular basis for the benefit of students," highlights Dr. Rasheed Shaikh.

It is a fully automated library with different databases and Barcode based technology is used for the circulation of books and periodicals. "Our Library is connected with all other college libraries situated in Azam Campus through Local Area Network (LAN) and OPAC of all the libraries can be searched at one terminal. The library is well equipped with Books, Journals, and Reports in print as well as electronic format. Legal databases/E-resources like AIR Databases, Manupatra, SCC Online, HeinOnline and the college component of E-ShodhSindhu (NLIST), National Digital Library, Vidya Mitra, E-PGpathshala and others can be subscribed/ borrowed. We are also providing access to the Institutional Repository of Indian Law Institute, Duke Law School, Cornell University, Yale Law School, Law Review Commons and also to SSRN. A.K.K. New Law Academy also has a separate publishing department with a professor in-charge of it and has worked towards publishing the 'Journal of Minorities Rights' having ISSN 2229-3663 (A Peer-Reviewed Half-Yearly Journal) up to the year 2015 which was included by UGC in its UGC-Approved List of Journals vide Sr. No. 572 and Journal No. 41405. 'The Journal of Minorities Rights' is upgraded in 2016 as 'International Research Journal of Socio-Legal Studies' - a peer-reviewed quarterly journal having ISSN 2455-0019 in order to extend its area and scope of operationto provide a platform to the scholars for creation and dissemination of knowledge by publishing 'International Research Journal of Socio-Legal Studies'.
The legal field of knowledge is increasingly becoming dependent on computers and allied technology. With the significant rise in the number of research guides and research projects, A.K.K. New Law Academy has also upgraded computer culture with ICT based smart classrooms. Dr. Rasheed Shaikh says, "Our college has facilitated this exposure through an exclusive Computer Section with technical faculty to impart training connected with legal education. Today, A.K.K. New Law Academy is equipped with spacious labs for the exclusive use of students. High-speed broadband connectivity provides extended access to vast intellectual resources. Students are making the best use of these facilities as an integral part of their studies. Every year, the institute conducts training programs in Personality Development, Professional skills for Advocates, Advanced learning classes in English, Yoga and Meditation Classes, Karate and Self Defence Classes for Girl Students.
