Africa has an estimated 1650 higher education institutions, and many of these institutions are facing challenges which require the intervention of several stakeholders, national governments as well as development partners for the students to maximize their learning outcomes as well as contribute effectively to the workforce. In this special issue, we have focused on this higher education landscape. The cover story of this issue features Rushmore Business School. Rushmore Business School is proving to be a notch apart from other institutes by offering customized training to address the challenge of adapting to an industry's needs. Established in 2002, Rushmore Business School is the first higher education institute to have brought British education at the students' doorstep.
