A fully residential institute, ABV-IIITM is spread across spread across 160 acres of land, and has state-of-the-art infrastructure. The campus is self-contained and sufficiently equipped with all the state of the art facilities that are necessary for the all-round development of the aspirants' personalities. One of the top educational institutes in the country, ABV-IIITM emphasises on generating highly qualified professionals in the field of Management and Technology. Awarded with the status of Deemed University, the institute predominantly offers 4 years B Tech (Computer Science), 5 years Integrated programme (B.Tech + M.Tech and B.Tech + MBA), postgraduate programme (M.Tech and MBA) and Ph.D. However, the institute is renowned for its five year Integrated Post Graduate - IPG. The program is divided into two parts - one is called 5 Year IMT - B.Tech + M.Tech and other is called 5 Year IMM - B.Tech + MBA.
In IMT, the objective is to create professionals who are capable of integrating technologies of different levels for offering competitive edge to industrial processes and business. Candidates after successful completion of this 5-year program are typically engaged in database management systems, computer networking, software engineering, and multimedia applications. On the other hand, IMM program is particularly aimed at creating professionals who not only are efficient business managers but also capable of providing viable solutions integrating business and IT. With a comprehensive knowledge about marketing, finance, human resources, and business operations these candidates are typically engaged in SCM (supply chain management), ERP (enterprise resource planning), CRM (customer relationship management), IT strategy, and e-Commerce.
Apart from these regular study courses, the institute conducts Management Development courses for aspirants from other institutes. The aspirants are shortlisted on the basis of written examination and are given a chance to display their skills and abilities in a group discussion and an interview, where a final screening is done.
The institute has no formal departments. The institute is dedicated to interdisciplinary research cutting across discipline boundaries. There are three streams: Information Technology, Management and Applied Sciences. ABV-IIITM Gwalior has NACC accreditation with grade `A' in 2015. The Institute takes pride in developing the high quality manpower in IT and Management.
At ABV-IIITM, more than 70% of the faculty members hold industry background from working there or are entrepreneurs. Each year, when the institute starts its admission process, three months prior ABV-IIITM begins discussions about the course curriculum for that particular batch. Being an autonomous institute, ABV-IIITM has a lot of freedom when it comes to upgrading its courses and including some additional courses as well as. "The courses at ABV-IIITM are crafted by the professors and the industry based experts, just as in jury 50% of the members are from the industry and others from beyond, our chairman is also from industry. So, basically, because this is a research institute, we always give equal importance to what is in the industry. Making Students Placement-Ready
The industry dynamics have changed dynamically over the years, hence, to keep up with the trends, every student at ABV-IIITM should undergo two or three courses through Coursera. These are industry oriented courses and it is important to undergo that process then only the institute gives the credit advantages to them. Most of the alumni of ABV-IIITM have also joined the students to provide the necessary online training to beat the placement challenges.
Today, ABV-IIITM is also adopting the concept called Peer Group Training Program where after 5:30 the senior students conduct training for the junior students. This can be for the students who are interested in coding developing, the software and hardware, optimization, processing and so on. So, it is purely peer based learning process.
"At ABV-IIITM, we believe that with changing times, not blending with the industry will not lead us to 100 percent placement. Today, we have TICC, TBI, Startup Intern, Trainee Acquistion Office and Academic Training, through this we have invited numerous industry faculties. Similarly, recently we have conducted one-day program, a business competition where 131 plans have been showcased by the overall India entrepreneurs and startups. While we look at industry personalized jobs, we are trying to incorporated more of the industry positioning in our board so that students get benefited since we have a faculty member, we know our teaching methodology. We continuously look for what industry wants and what are industry demands and which changes with time. So, the student who knows C++ in 2012 is not required today, they have to be updated and again, we also should be updated so for this training program", speaks Prof. Rajendra Sahu.

Gearing up for the future, ABV-IIITM has a training placement counselling with 15 members where five are industry experts, five are alumni and five from faculty side. Every year we do Summer Internship, winter internship, project based learning and placement. So, last year we got 86 percent of placement. Adding to these, we have eCell centre - an intervention cell centre with which now we are providing motivational training to the entrepreneurs. Every year many renowned companies visit the campus, for the campus recruitment of the students. Some of the top recruiters of ABV-IIITM include Samsung, Amdocs, CMS, NIIT, CSC, Amazon, Google, IDBI Bank, Wipro Infotech, ICICI Prudentia, TCS, HCL Technologies, HDFC, L & T Infotech, Relaince, and more.
In the second year, ABV-IIITM organizes EOI - Entrepreneur Orientation Intention, where students are mentored by some of the end entrepreneurs, and they get TICC training, it is a separate board, which has got a project from the Ministry of Information Technology for five years and the objective is to develop entrepreneurship in house than to provide a force to the startup and venture. So, TICC helps them, and ABV-IIITM is also having DST Funded Startup. Till date, ABV-IIITM has helped 46 entrepreneurs in rolling out their business ventures.

At ABV-IIITM, the main emphasis lies on providing entrepreneurship education because placement is not just a marketing campaign for every institute but we believe in entrepreneurs and startup. Also, 100 percent of the faculties at ABV-IIITM are having Ph.D. in their specific areas of specialization.
