For the 2012 - 2014 batches, it has been observed that one of the IIMs that offer close to 400 seats for management program received 173,866 applications. Of the 173,866 applications received, only 0.25 percent was offered seats in the institute. A similar condition was seen across the remaining 12 IIMs throughout the country. This, however, left many students disheartened as they consider pursuing an MBA degree from the numerous IIMs as a front row seat to a very bright corporate career.

Many aspirants find themselves pondering: "What will I do now","Is this the end of my MBA dream?" The answer is No. Higher Education Review - presents "Beyond IIMs" - B-Schools Survey 2014, that focuses on the non IIM, private B-Schools in India. Over the years, there have been many private business schools which have emerged, reached and surpassed the levels that the IIMs have attained. At HER, we understand that it is important to bring out the names of the best private B-Schools in our country that have the capabilities to produce quality workforce, entrepreneurs, innovators and corporate heroes par excellence as seen in the IIMs. These institutes are competent enough to produce the best Business talent for India and abroad. HER "Beyond IIMs" - B-Schools Survey 2014 has evaluated 4000 plus B-Schools across the country. In the process of finding the Best Indian B-Schools, we at HER have ensured that in doing an in-depth research and at the same time describe the evolutionary journey taken by the B Schools to become one of the top business learning centers within a short span of time.

Apart from exhaustive blue print elucidating the ideas about Business Schools in India, the survey will also foster healthy competition among the colleges to attract the best talent. The survey also represents the viewpoints of several renowned and experienced business leaders from the industry. While the survey is conducted on the basis of Nominations received from the institutes, they have been evaluated and shortlisted by a panel of educationalists, HR recruiters, and the HER Editorial team based on the data inputs provided by the institutes. We have ensured that each parameter is assigned a score based on their importance; and the cumulative score for all parameters will give an overall data score. Here is a list of important parameters covered in the survey questionnaire that accumulate to the total score for each institute:

College Credentials: Accreditation, University and Approvals, No. of graduating batches, and Competitiveness in course fees.

Academic Excellence: Faculty Strength, Faculty qualifications and experience (teaching + Industry), Course Curriculum, Publications by Faculty, national and international journals, No. of titles in library and e-journals.

Selection Process & Batch Profile: Batch Strength, Student Profile, Student Ratio, Eligibility criteria, Entrance Exam and cut off score.

Infrastructure & Facilities: Total Campus Area, Built-up area, College Facilities, No. of classrooms, computing facilities in classrooms, Internet accessibility.

Placement: Pre placement Exercises, Placement Week, Companies' participation, Total percentage of graduates in final placements, Salary Statistics (average & Highest salary packages offered)
