NALSAR, LawSikho unveil AI-driven diploma for future-proof legal careers

NALSAR University of Law has joined forces with LawSikho to introduce a diploma course connecting law education to artificial intelligence and new technologies. The course, named Diploma in Future of Law: AI, Technology & Legal Practice, will start in June 2025 and will be recognized by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Skill India.

The course will provide law students and working professionals with practical, relevant skills required to match up with the pace of changing, technology-fueled legal service. It comprises making more than 25 legal documents via AI tools and automating some compliance processes while building profiles for freelance jobs.

To indicate how significant the platform is, LawSikho CEO Ramanuj Mukherjee states that from April 2020 to March 2025, the platform enabled students and freelancers to generate over INR 43.41 crore (USD 5.2 million) in jobs and freelance projects, all from some of the best top domestic earnings of INR 38 LPA and overseas earnings of INR 80 LPA. Open for enrollment, classes are set to commence in June 2025.

Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao, Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR, said, "The AI revolution is leading us to rethink notions of judicial understanding of creativity, rights and responsibilities, and justice delivery. The entire legal fraternity—lawyers, judges, companies, and law firms—must creatively engage with and learn from developments in legal tech to work toward responsible AI. We are delighted to partner with NSDC and LawSikho in offering this timely and relevant course".

Dr. Krishna Ravi Srinivas, a professor at NALSAR, stated, "This course comes at a time when the legal profession and judicial systems are actively engaging with AI. It will serve as a guiding light for students and professionals alike".
