CLAT 2021 Rescheduled to June 13 on Account of CBSE Board Exams
The Common Law Admission Test of 2021 (CLAT 2021) has been recently announced to be rescheduled to June 13 in view of its collision with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams announced last week. For the aspirant future lawyers, CLAT 2021 was earlier scheduled to be held on May 9. But, after the announcement that CBSE board exams would start from May 4, the Consortium of National Law Universities held a meeting and decided to reschedule the exam for preventing the overlapping of the dates.
As per a press release issued by the Consortium of National Law Universities, “The Executive Committee of the Consortium of National Law Universities met on 6th January, 2021 to consider rescheduling the date of the CLAT 2021 exam due to clashes with the CBSE Board examination schedule announced last week.”
As announced earlier, the offline conduct of CLAT 2021 will be ‘subject to revision in case of necessity’, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Online applications for the exam have been available since January 1. The last date for submission of online applications remains March 31, 2021.
The date for CLAT 2021 has been rescheduled to Sunday, the 13th June, 2021 from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM. The UG and LL.M. exams shall be conducted on this date.
The CBSE board exams for classes 10th and 12th are scheduled to be held from 4 May 2021 until 10 June 2021.Those dates could potentially also cause a problem for NLU Delhi’s All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), which is set for 2 May 2021. Recently as per a recent amendment in the Legal education domain, the LLM degrees are declared only to be awarded after completing the two-year course spread across four semesters.
