NTT Data Ramps Up Efforts to Train Workforce in GenAI

NTT DATA, a digital business and IT services company, announced the launch of a Generative AI (GenAI) Talent Development Framework on Thursday, aimed at accelerating its global employee training initiatives. This framework is part of the company's commitment to enhancing expertise in Generative AI (GenAI) across its workforce of 200,000 employees, including over 40,000 employees in India, the largest concentration outside Japan.

CEO Yutaka Sasaki highlighted the significance of the initiative, noting that developing talent in GenAI has become a pressing need due to the rapid advancements in the field. The company plans to provide fundamental GenAI training to all employees while certifying at least 15,000 higher-level GenAI practitioners by the end of the fiscal year 2024, with the goal of doubling that number or more by FY26.

The framework consists of four levels of expertise, ranging from basic GenAI knowledge to expert leadership roles in technology innovations and deployments. Tailored training will be provided based on the roles, skill levels, and industry specializations of various employees, such as consultants, developers, GenAI users, and salespeople. GenAI experts trained under this framework will also advise and support client-facing development and deployment of GenAI solutions.
