Engineering accounted for 20%, with opportunities in software development, web development, product management, and core engineering fields such as mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering. Education and design each captured a 4% share, with roles like teaching, subject matter expertise, online tutoring, graphic design, UI/UX design, and animation. The remaining 16% included opportunities in various other fields.

Looking ahead to 2025, these sectors are expected to remain dominant, while emerging fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), sustainability, green technologies, and blockchain development are likely to gain prominence.

Inclusivity emerged as a key theme in 2024, with 66% of employers open to hiring women returning to work. Additionally, 49% of internships were offered as work-from-home roles, reflecting the increasing adoption of hybrid working models preferred by both students and employers. This adaptability has made internships more accessible, catering to the evolving demands of a dynamic workforce.
