MAH MBA CET Normalization Process Announced by Maharashtra State CET
The Maharashtra State CET Cell has implemented a marks normalization process for MAH MBA CET 2025, to provide equity in evaluation of candidates for exams held in multiple exam sessions. The normalization process equalizes the candidates' scores on a common scale of measurement, controlling for advantages or disadvantages due variations in difficulty levels across different sets of questions.
According to CET Cell’s official document, normalization is a standard practice that is utilized in a number of large scale educational selection tests across India. The MAH MBA CET 2025 will take place on April 1, 2 and 3 with two sessions each day. To ensure the security of exam, candidates will take one of two completely different sets of exam questions in each shift; resulting in some candidates receiving more difficult items than others. Therefore, the score normalization method will be used to ensure all candidates are evaluated fairly within the context of the difficulties they faced associated with their set of exam questions.
To facilitate the normalization process, candidates will be randomly assigned to one of the four sessions, with the goal of aiming to have approximately equal numbers of candidates in each session. These sessions will take place across two separate days, in order to balance the testing process. Following the completion of testing, score data for candidates will first be compiled for each of the four sessions based upon the raw scores those candidates obtained in their respective session.
