IIT Madras to host a job fair for research scholars on March 30
Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) is hosting a job fair for researchers as part of the All India Research Scholars Summit (AIRSS) 2025. The fair is being organized on the campus of IITM from 27th to 30th March, being the second installment of this yearly summit aimed at enhancing research ties with the industry.
As per an official statement by IITM, the summit will host research scholars, academicians, industry leaders, and innovators from different disciplines in India. Interestingly, approximately 30% of the attendees are from the Humanities department. To make the job fair a success, the institute is closely collaborating with industry partners. This student-convened summit is focused solely on being the biggest of its type and for research scholars only. The inaugural day, 27th March, was geared towards Women Empowerment Day, which commemorated women's achievements in STEM disciplines.
AIRSS 2025 is a student organizing conference and one of the biggest of its category specifically for research scholars. It has oral and poster presentations, technical workshops on topics such as technical writing, MATLAB, ANSYS, AI/ML, and LaTeX, along with recreation sessions and cultural events. The inaugural day of the event focused on empowering women in the field of STEM, which was marked by the inauguration of 'Eaton's Pratibha Awards' by Eaton, a global intelligent power management leader. The initiative identifies nine female students from IIT Madras, each being awarded a grant of ₹1.25 lakh.
