Andhra Pradesh Announces Vacancies for 6,100 Teaching Positions
Andhra Pradesh's Education Minister, Botcha Satyanarayana, announced on Feb 12 that the DSC (District Selection Committee) has decided to fill 6,100 teaching positions. The announcement was made during a news conference held at the Secretariat. The State government released two GOs, GO Nos. 11 and 12, on Feb 12 to hold tests and fill positions. The 6,100 Posts include 2,280 SGTs (Secondary Grade Teachers), 2,299 School Assistants, 1,264 TGTs (Trained Graduate Teachers), 215 PGTs (Post Graduate Teachers), and 42 Principals.
The government will use this notification to hire instructors for schools run by seven different management entities, which include Municipal, Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad, Andhra Pradesh Model Schools, and others. The minister stated that "All the teacher vacancies coming up till next April will be filled through this DSC. Further, under the zero vacancy policy, all vacancies arising in a given year will be filled in that year itself."
The recruitment drive will arrange 122 examination centers, and computer-based examinations will be conducted. The announcement states that fees must be paid between February 12 and February 21, and applications will be accepted through February 22. Online tests will be accessible from March 15 to 30, and hall passes can be downloaded starting in March. The candidate will receive a 'Journal Number' upon payment, which they can use to submit their application online. Issuing a journal number does not imply that the applicant has completed the online application process. It is merely an acknowledgment of the payment received. The DSC results are to be announced on April 7.
