The University of XI' AN International Studies University (XISU) was founded in the year of 1952 and it stands to be one of the oldest foreign language institutes in China. XISU follows a multilayered system of higher education and the institute is now renowned for offering 22 programs in foreign language education in 20 languages. The university has tie-ups with 199 higher education institutions both local and international for the students' international exchange programs. They have also started international practice bases in many foreign countries including the United States, India, Japan
and Thailand. During the last 3 years, the university has sent out 220 scholars and 2578 students to foreign universities and taken in 2471 international students.
Students studying in the XISU are provided with state of the art infrastructure and services from experienced faculties. The University has 49 language labs, 383 multimedia classrooms, and 28 specialized laboratories including media labs and simulation centers for international finance, investment and trade. XISU also boasts a state of the art library with books and research materials in 11 different languages. The University has 846 full-time faculty members and they have an array of research institutes including dedicated research and development centers for teaching resources. XISU has taken over 17 research projects for reform instructions and has won 13 awards, published 40 books and 1030 research articles. Total enrollment in the university in 20,000 and out of that 18,675 are full-time students from 37 different countries.
