TRC Law College: An Institute Renowned For Imparting Legal Knowledge In A Systematic & Resourceful Manner

Over the years, with the help of public and private sectors, the education system in India has seen massive growth. Especially for legal education, the quality and overall focus on the teaching methodologies is crucial for long-term success in the field. The students that graduate from these law colleges not only determine the quality of the `Bar and Bench' but also the entire legal system in India.
With the vision of development of trained manpower that are intellectually genius, morally conscious and socially responsible to work towards a society in a systematic and resourceful manner for the development of the Nation, TRC Law college came into inception in the year 2007. At the time of its foundation, there were no law colleges in the district in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. TRC Law College strives on a mission to "create a community which is diverse, inclusive and sensitive towards the rights and duties of every individual that would serve society to strengthen the legal system in India".
Having 34 faculties in campus and a student-faculty ratio of 1:40, TRC Law College provides latest facilities such as smart classrooms, Wi-Fi campus, central library, indoor and outdoor sports, antiragging cell, women cell for women empowerment and development, and all facilities for differently abled people along with skill development centres like Moot Court Hall, Legal Aid Cell, and Computer Lab.
In the current Indian education scenario, a lot of cities and districts in the rural part of the country are facing issues when it comes to providing appropriate resources as students get short of appropriate learning material, school libraries are rarely present, and schools are missing the newest equipment. Another drawback in the system is that the focus is inclined more towards theoretical knowledge rather than practical which withholds students to apply whatever they have learnt.
TRC Law College has come as a ray of hope for students especially in Satrikh, which is an undeveloped area in Uttar Pradesh, where literacy rate is still not very promising and the aspiring youth does not have the proper means to a good education. TRC offers professional legal education at an affordable fee all while boasting the best of study infrastructure and legal professionals in the suburban area.
The teaching techniques adopted by TRC is quite notable as they use pedagogical methods to teach their students which are mentioned as below: One of them is the `lecture method.' This method centres around information being provided by the teacher.
This is the most common method that is adopted by faculties to explain a legal theory or notion to students. Another effective teaching pedagogy employed by the college is the `case study method', where students are asked to solve a particular case or made-up scenario by applying knowledge, principles or skills that they have learned in class. The third pedagogical method is the `Seminar Method'.
This is a discussion based teaching technique in which small groups of students work together to solve particular problems by using the legal technicalities. The use of this pedagogy technique has widely increased as it has been employed by legal educational establishments because of the recent ongoing COVID-19 epidemic.
Aside from these, there are several extra-curricular activities that the students are expected to indulge in from time to time. Students have secured many awards in the competitions organized by the institution. One kind of extra-curricular activity that the institution organises is the moot court competition which is a type of mock court where a proper court scenario is created and students are asked to fight for the plaintiff and defendant's side and showcase the evidence before a judge who will then render his judgment in the same regard and declare the winner.
TRC Law college primarily provides two courses for aspiring law students, a three-year LL.B program and a five-year B.A.LL.B (Hons) Â five year course. Other than these, TRC also offers scholarship opportunities to students based on attendance where students securing more than 80 percent get 10 percent, 90 percent attendance get 20 percent and on 100 percent attendance, 25 percent of fee will be awarded as scholarships. Female students from economically weak families also stand a chance to availscholarship at TRC. TRC also has some collaborations with Law Firms that provide opportunities like internships, guest lectures, skill training sessions to college alumni.

Dr. Sujeet Chaturvedi, a physicist by education is known for his knowledge, spontaneity, and generosity, is currency serving as the secretary of the college. Being renowned in his field, he has been appointed by the Government of India as the Coordinator of the Children's Science Congress, Barabanki. Talking about future plans, he says "We are looking forward to soon acquiring NAAC accreditation to run as an autonomous institute, additionally upon obtaining relevant approvals we plan to add post graduate level masters' courses in our curriculum as well".
