Sree Valmiki Industrial Training Institute (SVITI): Empowering Future Generation Of Industry Experts With Unique Industrial Training Education
By G. Puttaramaiah, Professor
Exposing students into real-life work and industry is the best way to make them understand the workings of the industry. Industrial training helps the trainees to easily understand and experience the workings of an industry which is more effective and efficient than filling them up with theoretical knowledge and classroom lectures. Industrial training exposes the students to the normal workings of an industry and creates an opportunity for them to learn and train by doing that work under the guidance of expert trainers. Skill development initiatives support the supply of trained workers who are adjustable dynamically to the challenging demands of employment. When this approach is combined with proper theoretical education, the students will have a better understanding of the operations and requirements of the industry and this makes them industry-ready. Adopting this system also helps in the upliftment and development of the economic and social growth of the country.
Understanding the importance and potential of industrial training, the government of India has given major thrust for skill development in the country and started the Pradhana Mantri Kaushalya Vikasa Yojana (PMKVY) initiative. 'Catch them Young' is the slogan for harnessing the potential of young human energy by training them in the emerging fields of science and technology. Sree Valmiki Industrial Training Institute (SVITI) was established to empower all individuals with improved skills and knowledge through training by qualified and experienced Trainers.
Founded in 2012 and approved by National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), SVITI is functioning under the reputed Sree Valmiki Vidyavardhaka Sangha which was founded in the year of 1960. The institute was set up with the aim of offering quality based base-level training and use it as an important tool to provide equitable and sustainable growth of the country.
SVITI has been adopting the teaching and practical training as per syllabus approved by government of India. The syllabus is being revised periodically to ensure that the trainees gain access to decent employment as well as competitiveness in the market. The institute believes that to get the best results possible one needs to start from the grass-root level onwards. "Our objective is to develop a world-class skilled workforce in different areas of the industry in order to raise the quality and quantity of industrial production through systematic training by incorporating top-notch infrastructure and expert faculties and to provide state of the art training and learning. Through our courses, we are trying to improve the employment opportunities of the trainees along with working for a broader objective of eradicating the social inequality with regard to gender, religion, and economic status", avers, G. Puttaramaiah, Professor, SVITI.
"SVITI makes sure that all of their trainees are provided with the latest tools and equipments for their learning purposes and the institute closely monitors the changing industry trends so that they always keep pace with the dynamic industry requirements"
