Science is valued by society because the application of scientific knowledge helps to satisfy many basic human needs and improve living standards. The pursuit of any scientific endeavour is noble, but llife science is particularly special. The Life Science enables an understanding of the environment and the other living species with whom we share the earth; this knowledge guides conservation efforts and literally helps us to save our shared planet.
Having a similar motive, Sister Nivedita School of Allied Health Sciences and Translational Research has been developing a community of learners that is based on quality faculty research, effective teaching pedagogy, and creating an enquiring student population.
School of Allied Health Science and Translational Research under Sister Nivedita University has been training young minds in its various department such as Microbiology, Biotechnology and Applied Nutrition and Dietetics, Para Medical Courses, Nurshing, Pharmacy and Psychology for years. Having the vision to create exemplary professionals and research scholars, the institute is looking forward to training more and more youths in the near future.
The University has a curriculum that is at par with the recent developments and the college promotes an experimental model of learning which incorporates both vertical and lateral thinking. The institute focuses on providing the practical aspect of theoretical sessions to the students through which they learn in real-life situations.
"œLife Science is one such domain which will evolve in future and this metamorphosis will create new avenues in terms of jobs and research opportunities. COVID 19 has completely reshaped Life Sciences and courses like dietetics, nutrition are gaining momentum among the masses. Concepts like telemedicine and online care have opened new dimension in this sector. Hence we ensure that we have the best state-of-the-art labs, technology and knowledge pool to convert our students into budding industry professionals", says Prof. (Dr.) Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay.
The university has a wonderful faculty with great research and teaching expertise in their fields. Constant Faculty Development Programmes (FDP) and quality research publications in peer-reviewed journals with high impact factors are given importance for developing the intellectual capital of the department.
The Organization has got a good number of Joint Ventures, Memorandum of Understandings and Research collaborations with various research organizations and big brands of the Life Sciences sector both in India and abroad.
The university encourages the students for participating in Student Exchange Programmes in these top brands and also motivates them to work on various research projects while they are studying which further helps the students to learn the practical aspect of the theory that they are taught in their classes and working on these projects gives them an extra mileage during placements where they are in a better position than their counterparts.
The university offers opportunities for various workshops, seminars, on-job trainings and internships which are integrated with the course curriculum. The institute also organizes lectures in form of guest sessions from industry stalwarts who are mainly recruiters which helps them to understand the quality of students they would be hiring and at the same time students are exposive to the recent happenings in the Life Science Industry.

The university even has collaborations with other soft skill development partners to develop skill like data analysis and data mining so that when an opportunity comes to students for internships they not only perform well but also go ahead and convert that opportunity into Pre-Placement Offers (PPO). Sister Nivedita School of Allied Health Sciences and Translational Research emphasized on developing employability skill of students so that not only the students will they get placed, but also can approach the university any time for academic or non-academic support.
