Operated by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, R.V. College of Engineering (RVCE) was founded in 1963 and stand with pride today as one of the top-ten self-financing engineering colleges in the country.
Enrolling more than 1500 students annually, RVCE abides by to adopt the mantra of transmitting Outcome-Based Education (OBE) with a focus on experiential learning, interdisciplinary research, good governance, entrepreneurial culture, sustainable and inclusive technologies. RVCE is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University and has 15 departments in the campus offering 12 Under Graduate Engineering programmes, 21 Master Degree programmes including Doctoral Studies. The MoU with University of Applied Sciences, Wurzburg- Germany further helps the institution in offering a one-year certification programme in Business Engineering, Logistics and Mechatronics.

Existing in the higher education arena for more than 50 years now, RVCE has earned several achievements and acknowledgment from different forums. Among all, the most recent is obtaining the 2nd rank among Technical Institutions selected for the World Bank supported TEQIP Phase II Sub Comp: 1.2 and 1.2.1, facilitated by MHRD GOI. Also in 2008, the college was widely appreciated for having the highest number of gold medal-winners among colleges affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. Dr. K.N. The institution holds the honor to maintain a 95 percent placement record over the years and raising the bar with each passing year with the conviction to produce all-around professionals instilled with substantial proficiency. "Over 135 companies already visited the campus in the current year and we are expecting to welcome more companies by the end of the year," adds Dr. Subramanya. Highest salary offered is Rs. 40.0 lakhs per annum and the Median salary is Rs. 6.75 lakhs per annum.

Located on 52 acres of serene green campus, RVCE encourages multiple activities, which define the modern education system. The campus has 182 well-furnished classrooms, labs comprising of 2460 computers,
13 Air Conditioned seminar halls coupled with interdisciplinary research laboratories. With 16 research centers carrying out research and consultancy in various domains, the institution engages both the faculty members and the students to participate regularly in the research activities. Presently, the college has 23 ongoing research projects sponsored by DRDO, ISRO, NRB, AICTE, UGC, VGST and much more, which sums up to Rs. 20 Crores. RVCE has established "œCentre of Excellence in Macroelectronics" under TEQIP-II Sub Comp. 1.2.1 facilitated by MHRD, Govt. of India. Under the collaboration with CISCO, RVCE has initiated "Centre of Excellence on Internet" and is in the process of establishing "Centre of Excellence in Clean and Hybrid Energy. In in line with the vision of Govt. of India's Skill based initiatives, RVCE has been carrying out Skill Boosting the wave of entrepreneurship, the Institute has collaborated with National Entrepreneurship Network to strengthen the entrepreneurship skills of the students who aspire to be one. Being partnered with NASSCOM and Letsintern.com RVCE organizes diverse activities like Mentoring Talks from young Entrepreneurs, Leaders Conclave, 24 hours Business Marathon, E-Summit, TEDx, Embark (Ideation Workshop), Expedien (Business Plan), (Startup Internship Fair) and so on. "The changing educational system demands students to learn from their experience. We at RVCE promote experiential learning to intrigue the students to think, innovate and do out-of-the-box projects," claims Dr. Subramanya. The students are duly encouraged to undergo industrial visits and attend guest lecturers from industry experts, leading them to acquire hands-on training, which is considered as an essential element for engineering students. As the teaching pedagogy is important, the act of teacher in this process is undeniable and understanding this, the institute has associated with 22 professional institutions viz. IEEE, CSI, CII, ISACA, QCFI and so on to organize capacity enhancement programs for the 415 faculty members. Having more than 70 MoUs and collaborations, it becomes uncomplicated for the B.Tech and M.Tech student of RVCE to complete their internship programmes and projects with durations varying from 8 weeks to 8 months. "Several companies have set up their lab in the campus for students to continue their projects under them, which in return is generating a student-company rapport and on the flipside, enhancing students' employability," pinpoints Dr. Subramanya. Climbing the ladder of success year after year, RVCE is determined to keep improving the quality of research and publication including intensifying the studentcentric learning through the wide use of ICT.
