Rennes School of Business: Producing Responsible 'Business Entrepreneurs' For Tomorrow's World

By Maud LE BARS, International Development Manager South Asia
France has been world-renowned for the quality of education that it imparts to its students. The French are also very welcoming when it comes to outsiders and this combined with the growth opportunities that the country can offer makes this fun-loving country a desirable higher education destination for students across the world. Topping the charts of premier business schools in France is the Rennes School of Business. Rennes School of Business was founded in 1990 by the regional chamber of commerce with the objective of developing international talents locally as the main industry sectors are resolutely into global operations. With 95 percent of faculty members being non-French, 55 percent of the total student population being foreign students, the institute shatters the traditional ideologies of global higher education.

Thinking Outside the Box

While most other institutions struggle to design and develop an educational curriculum that can cope up with the cultural diversities brought in by international students, Rennes School of Business is experts in dealing with this situation. "More than just introducing our students to the world, we bring it to them. We turn education into a true exchange. Thinking beyond the frame means learning differently, to strive differently. We strive to explore new fields, look for answers to tomorrow's questions, design a future that is more inventive, more creative, and in the end, more human. We are providing our students with an amazing cultural laboratory, essential to manage the future international roles they will take on. With 3 of our Masters being ranked among the 100 best in the world by the Financial Time, we are bringing excellence of academics at an affordable cost", says Maud LE BARS, International Development Manager South Asia, Rennes School of Business.

Talking about the teaching pedagogies adopted by the institute, Maud, says, "Our professors are researchers with 5 areas of research in our school with international reach including AI-driven Business, Agribusiness, Green Supply chain, Mind and Geopolitics. Between gamification and practical learning, we are innovating in experiential learning. Our students can volunteer in the many student associations proposed by the school such as investment banking and crypto-currency, humanitarian, sport, event management, consulting, art, audio-visual, and many more. The school hosts 3 gyms, a language laboratory, a world-class library, a Bloomberg facility, music and video studio, drones, and incubators. In order to allow each student to explore his/her unique interests and acquire confidence, experience, and skills on top of the core set of knowledge provided in classes. Each year of study includes a mandatory internship facilitated by the organization of no less than 6 corporate days per year on campus. Companies are also engaging with our students in various forms including conference, business escape games, company visits, workshops, and design sprints."

"The Triple Accreditation from EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA is a rare crown to get and Rennes School of Business has been having it for the past 5 years"

We welcome around 200 Indian students every year nowadays and are experienced in providing them appropriate care. We are also one of the eight business schools in France only to be officially recognized by the French Government for the quality of our service to foreign students which is labeled 'Welcome in France'. We also have various orientation programs and activities that will help the Indian students to feel at home.
