Dr. Anil Matkar (Director) says, "œAt RGCMS we believe, instilling simply managerial skills in the management graduates is not enough, we make sure that the future leaders of our country are capable to make this world a better place." Acknowledging a holistic approach in imparting education, the institute conducts a two-year MBA and MMS programme with specializations in Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, Operations and Systems (IT). "œWe have recently introduced an Executive MBA Programme, to provide working professionals achieve greater heights in their respective career graphs" The institute, however, enrolls the students strictly on the basis of merit, where prospective students have to appear for MH-CET, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, CAT, XAT Entrance examinations conducted by the competent authority.

Faculty


Rajeev Gandhi College of Management Studies (RGCMS) has appointed a host of research-oriented faculty members accountable to their responsibilities holding extensive academic and industry experience. Students are assured to be groomed and nurtured in the institute under the correct required guidance and mentoring. Each faculty member is assigned 15-16 students who they monitor throughout the academic year and work on their weak areas providing insights to deal with the shortcomings. Faculty members at RGCMS go beyond their capabilities to shape the students into ethical and skilled leaders.

Get a Foot in the Door-Alumni


The alumni of RGCMS are highly recognized in the business arena for their capabilities and demonstrative skills. In an attempt to stay in touch with the alumni, RGCMS organizes an alumni meet every year, where all the alumni share their knowledge and industry experience with the current batch of students followed by explaining about placement and internship activities. We organize our Annual Cultural Festival "Zest" exhibiting several cultural activities, wherein students from varied colleges visit our campus. This assures for our students a vibrant and happening campus life.

Events and Programs


Annually the institute also organiz-es an in-house program between the month of September and November where students are encouraged to take part in case study competitions and group presentations. Director Says, "œWe form student's group, give them a current topic to work on and do a presentation for our guests consisting of members from our sister concern institutes." Considering the demand for a set of skills in the candidates among the recruiters, the institute conducts Skill Development Workshops in the form of debates, case study and so on, along with hosting seminars. Additionally, the students of RGCMS are entitled to undertake summer intern-ships in prominent companies such as ONGC, Bank of Maharashtra, Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank and many more. Through these continuous involvements with the industries, the students earn optimum knowledge regarding the professional environment and the challenges faced in it.

Industry Exposure


"At RGCMS we believe in catering to industry requirements, we must give our students National and International Industry exposure to make them globally competitive. Along with National level industry visits we have ventured in organizing International industrial visits as well and we proudly share that our first International IV is scheduled for Singapore in March 2019," says Director. The students of RGCMS are motivated for visiting MLCs, where they can interact with a dynamic group of corporates, peers and academicians. This gives the students a global perspective towards education followed by opening the door of countless opportunities and a wide range of a network.

Training and Placement


The institute has on board a dedicated Training and placement officer Dr. Sanjay Jadhav (Secretary of Maharashtra Training and Placement Association), who looks after the training of students and placing them in their desired job profile. Dr. Matkar explicates, "œLast year, we have conducted a job mela, where around 1200 students from different colleges participated. Among them, 460 candidates got selected. Companies like Infosys, Hinduja Global Solution Pvt Ltd, Jindal Electric Ltd, Crystal Solutions Ltd, Eureka Forbes Ltd, Geekay Infotech Pvt. Ltd, AndroMedia Pvt Ltd, Reliance Ltd, Genius Consultants Ltd, Tata Sustainability Ltd, Technobuddy's Ltd, Catalyst Talent Management, ICICI Bank, Lenskart.Com, HR IT Global, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, RS Consultancy Ltd, Riddhi Siddhi Solutions, XL Dynamics, Relata Facility (P) Ltd., Wellness forever, Cognizant, to name a few, are some of our major recruiters."

For supporting the aspirant entrepreneurs, the institute has incorporated an Entrepreneurship Development Cell that is guiding for producing successful entrepreneurs imbibed with leadership qualities using innovative and ethical business practices to make a global impact.

Future Plans


Affiliated to the University of Mumbai and approved by AICTE, DTE, besides providing the regular class-room sessions, RGCMS also administers weekend special tutorials, lectures and seminars conducted by eminent personalities coming from the industry. "œRGCMS's proximity to Thane-Belapur-Turbhe Industrial belt enables us to sustain robust industrial and academic collaborations," adds Dr. Matkar. Speaking about the future roadmap of the firm Dr. Matkar concludes, "œWitnessing a large number of applicants for our existing courses, in near future, we are planning to start a PGDM programme and initiate quality short-term certificate courses."
