Certain institutions in the realm of higher education, where tradition meets innovation, stand out for their steadfast dedication to excellence. Nestled in the vibrant academic environment of Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT), one such institution has been making significant strides since its inception.
Established in 2007, the P. D. Patel Institute of Applied Sciences was named after its patron P. D. Patel - a businessman associated with the Switchgear Industries in Dubai, who has emerged as a trailblazer in providing cutting-edge education in Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry.
The P. D. Patel Institute of Applied Sciences began with three flagship programs: MSc in Biotechnology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry. The MSc Biotechnology program was the first to be offered, setting the stage for the institute's future endeavours. The vision was clear from the start: to create a center of excellence that not only imparts knowledge but also equips students with the skills necessary to excel in their professional careers.
State-of-the-Art Infrastructure
Modern infrastructure is a cornerstone of effective education, particularly in the sciences, where hands-on training is crucial. “Our institution boasts an impressive array of facilities designed to support the students' academic and research pursuits. Our college houses 18 dedicated laboratories, eight of which cater specifically to MSc students, and six to undergraduate students.
Each laboratory is equipped with essential instruments like centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and laminar airflow units, ensuring that our students receive hands-on experience with the tools of their trade,” says Dr. Gayatri Dave, Associate Professor and Dean, P. D. Patel Institute of Applied Sciences.
Connectivity is another highlight of the institute's infrastructure. The campus offers 24-hour Wi-Fi,
