Anjaneyulu has been described as creative colossus of education, immense stature, popularity in the field and In possession of many sterling qualities, who had streamlined Chalapathi Residential School as One of the "Guided Educational Institutions" in the state as its crowning glory. Prof. Rama Rao Nadendla, Principal
Holding extensive 32 years of teaching and 30 years of research experience, Prof. Rama Rao Nadendla currently handles the chair of Principal at CIPS. A Gold Medallist from Gulbarga University, he has been honored with the Prof.M.L.Khorana Memorial Award (2001) for best research paper in Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Till date, he has published 103 research and review papers in peer-reviewed National and International journals, guided 19 Ph.D. scholars and authored 4 textbooks.
Conferred with the "Best Emerging Pharmacy College Award" by Score More Foundation in 2016 and ranked 48th at NIRF All India Level in 2017, Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CIPS) in a very short span of time through its consistent endeavors has been able to translate its set objectives into execution. Spearheading the institution from the front since its foundation, the Principal of CIPS, Prof. Rama Rao Nadendla has played a significant role in earning the Autonomous Grant by UGC in a span of only 12 years. Deservingly, the institute also received accreditation by NAAC with "A" Grade (Excellent) and secured 3.16 CGPA on 4 scales, owing to which CIPS has been declared as an approved research centre for Ph.D. by Krishna University and Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), along with a certification by ISO 9001:2015. "We have a long way to go. Sincerely committed to impart quality pharmacy education and research to meet global standards, our vision is to inculcate the best in various fields of pharmacy and eventually mould the institution as centre of excellence in terms of academics and advanced research," says Prof. Nadendla. For mutual benefit of academia and the students, CIPS have established 18 MOUs and collaboration with Government General Hospital, Biophore Pharmaceuticals coupled with an exclusive association with International University, Eastern Shore Maryland University for student and faculty exchange programme. Whether it is academic or extracurricular activities, the institute has bagged several achievements, including 24 Prathiba awards received by students from Government of AP, 2 Prof. M.L. Khorana awards, 19 state level, 15 international and 5 university-level awards by the students and faculty were received and many more.

Affiliated permanently to ANU, recognized by UGC Under section 2(f) & 12B and Department of Science and Industrial Research for research activities, the institute has been offering a array of courses viz. 4 years B. Pharmacy degree, 2 years M. Pharmacy degree in 5 specializations, 6 years Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D), and 3 years' Post Baccalaureate course. "Students are enrolled into our college through centralized counseling conducted by State Government of Andhra Pradesh by AP EAMCET exam. After admission we conduct orientation classes for one week to make the freshers adaptable to our institute's rules and regulations along with providing basic knowledge on pharmacy subjects and career opportunities," claims Prof. Nadendla.
Building Futures
Satisfying appropriately the thrust of the students for an effective teaching-learning experience, CIPS campus is nestled in the premises of Chalapathi Educational Society, which was inaugurated by Sri. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, Chief Minister of AP, incorporating exceptional infrastructural facilities. "The campus has been decorated with IPA-Lam Branch, ISPOR-ANU student chapter, ISPOR-Amaravathi Regional Chapter, Jan Aushadi and APSSDC skill development centre. Students also get access to 22 laboratories recognized by DSIR equipped with advanced technology and equipment in the campus," pinpoints Prof. Nadendla. Additionally, CIPS also encompassed Central Instrumentation Room, well - stocked library, Pilot Plant, Medicinal Plant Garden, Drug Museum, Computer cum Language Laboratory, CPCSEA approved Animal House, to name a few, in the campus.
"The faculty of our institution concentrates more in the aspect of the teaching-learning process and adopts many innovative teaching methods in the form of innovative teaching methodology, flipped classes, video lectures, quality enhancement of teaching through interdisciplinary lectures, supportive classes and many more," proudly says Prof. Nadendla. Along with motivating the students to undertake research activities, providing seed money to deserved one and undergoing internships and industry visits, the institute also conducts Heartfulness Meditation programme which serves for the overall personality development of the student. Prof. Nadendla adds, "The students of final year B. Pharmacy are facilitated with additional training for competitive examinations since 2008 enabling to pursue higher studies". Further, the students are motivated to involve in group discussions, quizzes, student seminars, assignments, guest lectures, workshops, e-poster competitions and so on.

Having associations with organizations such as Biophore Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, Kelvin Labs, Hyderabad, Government General Hospital, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation, Guntur and so on, the students of CIPS never has to confront the dearth of employment and training opportunities. "75 to 80 percent of our students are placed in reputed establishments today and rests of them are pursuing higher studies in renowned national and international universities," states Prof. Nadendla.
The major recruiters of CIPS are Aurobindo Pharma, BioPhore Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Divis Laboratories, Quintiles, Accenture, Abbott India Pvt. Ltd, Hetero labs, Aizent Pharma, Del Excel pharma, Accenture, Novartis and Natco Pharma to name a few. "With the tenacity of embracing the highest standard of education and research in future as well, the institute strives to extend a good number of international collaborations and perform optimum service-oriented programmes in rural areas for their health benefits in next couple of years," concludes Prof. Nadendla.
