Top 100 Engineering Survey - 2022

Engineering is a highly sought-after academic option primarily owing to the lucrative and diverse career options that it has to offer. For many years now, India has established itself as one of the top engineering destinations in the world with more than 2000 engineering colleges, 1000 polytechnics and 200 schools of planning and infrastructure, churning out 15 lakh engineering graduates last year. IT revolution coupled with the rapid developments made in core engineering domains is constantly increasing the demand for engineers in the country. Apart from this, the rising adoption of technology across multiple industry verticals can be seen as a catalyst which is revitalizing engineering-related occupations in India. As per a recent report, engineering along with healthcare and telecom is set to generate 12 million jobs in the coming five years. In engineering, aerospace, defense, power, chemical and construction are seen as some of the top sub categories which will contribute significantly towards job creation.    

  

With engineering professions rising in popularity, it is important that aspiring students choose the best engineering colleges in the country to increase their chances of building a successful career in the engineering domain. Acknowledging this scenario, Higher Education Review's "Engineering Survey 2022" is an effort to bring awareness to the students looking to pursue engineering education in India. The top 100 institutions in this list have been selected taking into consideration multiple important facets such as a) the quality of faculty, research and publications, b) establishment and approvals, c) current students and admissions, d) infrastructure and facilities, and e) placement and salary statistics. The list excludes IITs and NITs as it seeks to zero in on the engineering institutions that are excelling without the tag. This list not only aspires to help students when it comes to choosing the best Indian engineering colleges but it also aims to inspire other engineering institutions in the country to  improve the quality of their education.
