Banking jobs in the public sector is always in demand among graduates, working professionals and non-working people. The craze for bank jobs is increasing among the IT professionals due to tiresome work culture of the IT sector. The examinations are conducted mainly to recruit officers and clerks where students/professionals coming from any background can apply.

Different Banking Examinations (Public) –

1. IBPS Probationary Officer Recruitment Examination

2. State Bank of India Probationary Officer Recruitment Examination

3. IBPS Clerical Recruitment Examination

4. State Bank of India Clerical Recruitment Examination

5. IBPS Rural Banking Examination

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for banking examinations must have completed graduation.

For Clerical Examinations

It is mandatory for a candidate to be an Indian citizen and the candidate must have secured at least 60 percent marks in their graduation. For some banking examinations, the minimum qualification is 10+2 and the upper age limit is 25 years.

For Probationary Officer Examinations

It is mandatory for a candidate to be an Indian citizen and the candidate should have completed graduation in any discipline and secured at least 60 percent marks.

Candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC, ST, PWD etc.) should have at least 55 percent marks in their graduation.

Syllabus for Banking Examinations (Probationary) Prelims -

The preliminary examination contains three subjects – English language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning.

The English language has the following sections –

The upcoming examination for banking is IBPS PO and registration window is open from 7th August to 28th August. The preliminary examination is scheduled on 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th October. The mains examination will be conducted on 30th November 2019.
