Shiv Nadar University's new postgraduate certificate program in Life Sciences Research will commence during the 2025-26 academic session. The announcement was made on National Science Day and resonated with this year's theme, "Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation" under Viksit Bharat.
The first cohort will comprise 20 students, providing a cutting-edge curriculum that will try to bridge the gaps of undergraduate-level education. The program focuses heavily on experiential in-lab training that will help the trainees learn advanced research skills that are very important for pursuing a career in the industry and doctoral studies.
The program is infused with interdisciplinary mentorship through various domains in life sciences and nurtures an all-encompassing learning environment. The initiative, which prepares students for leadership roles in scientific research through experiential hands-on learning, ties back to the long-awaited dream of making India a global leader in science and innovation.
This program is another back step SNU has taken in its quest to realize scientific education and give rise to a vibrant generation of research leaders.
"We believe in nurturing a culture of deep inquiry and innovation. This program is a step towards enhancing research capabilities in life sciences and strengthening India’s contribution to global scientific advancements. By offering students an opportunity to work on real-world challenges in a laboratory setting, we are preparing them for impactful careers in academia, industry, and beyond", said Ananya Mukherjee, Vice-Chancellor of Shiv Nadar University.
