JEE Main 2021 April Session Postponed: Ramesh Pokhriyal

Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main 2021 April session has been postponed by the National Testing Agency due to the surge in COVID 19 cases in the country. The NTA has issued a notice to inform the students about the postponement of JEE Main April 2021 exam today on April 18, 2021. The JEE Main April 2021 exam was earlier scheduled to be held from April 27 to 30, 2021. 

Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal, Union Minister of Education took his social media platform to announce the notification himself. As per the official tweet of the minister, it says, "Given the current Covid 19 situation, I have advised NTA to postpone the JEE Main 2021 April session. I would like to reiterate that the safety of our students & academic career is Education ministry and my prime concern right now. Please note: The dates of JEE (Main) – 2021 April session will be announced later on and at least 15 days before the examination."

As per the Notice by NTA it reads, "Looking at the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well-being of the candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone the JEE (Main) – 2021 April Session. The revised dates for the JEE (Main) – 2021 April session will be announced later on and at least 15 days before the examination. In the meantime, candidates are advised to use this time to prepare themselves better for the examination. They can also take practice ( full length/ chapter wise) tests on the NTA Abhyas App from the comfort of their homes."

NTA concluded the registration process for JEE Main April 2021 examination on April 14. This year NTA had introduced multiple attempts for JEE Main exam to give the flexibility to appear for the exam and allow students to improve their performance. The JEE Main May 2021 session is scheduled from May 24 to 28, 2021.

Earlier this week, several other exams, including NEET PG 2021 and CBSE, CISCE Board exams 2021, have been postponed. Students are however advised to keep a check on jeemain.nta.nic for the latest updates.
