IIT-M Pravartak Introduces Upskilling Courses for Workforce

The Pravartak Technologies Foundation at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has introduced professional certificate courses along with the edtech platform Coding Ninjas. This initiative seeks to deliver high-quality technical education to working professionals and graduates. Moreover, it aims to make upskilling opportunities more attainable as technological advancements continue to evolve.

The professional certification course in Full-Stack Web programming professional certification course, the first in the series, is designed to provide students with both front-end and back-end programming skills. An official statement indicated that recruiting full-stack developers had increased by 30% from year to year due to the rapid growth of the technology sector in India and the growing interest in qualified workers. The growth was attributed to the rise of fintech and e-commerce. The statement noted that full-stack engineers would see a growth of 17% from 2022 to 2033, which will remain higher than many other tech positions.

Participants will get exposed to the IITM Pravartak ecosystem through certification programs which will include industry-relevant coursework co-created with IIT Madras faculty and Coding Ninjas’ team. The syllabus contains expert sessions, guest lectures, practical case studies, and projects.

Students will also get access to job placement resources & resume writing help, mock interviews, and a unique job board. At IITM Pravartak, there will be an onboarding and graduation event to award the successful candidates with the Professional Certificate of IITM.

Along with technical instruction, the courses include AI-based learning resources to improve understanding and problem-solving abilities. The program framework is tailored to include both recent graduates and professionals aiming to shift into the tech sector.
