IIT Bombay Offers a Free Online Course on Android App Development

IIT Bombay has rolled out applications for the free online course on Android App Development using Kotlin. Kotlin has emerged as one of the popular open-source programming languages for developing Android apps that are built by JetBrains and run-on Java Virtual Machine.

The course includes 10 audio-video spoken tutorials for which candidates can register on SWAYAN platforms. It is an All-India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) approved course that will be conducted by Professor Kannan M Moudgalya, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. This is well-suited for undergraduate and postgraduate students for 8 weeks.

Software Requirements needed for the free online course:

  • Java should be installed on the system to have deep interoperability for Kotlin with Java.
  • Laptop configurations should be the specifications as mentioned on the https://developer.android.com/studio/.
  • Candidates must follow the tutorial - “Getting started with Hello World app” that will help in understanding how to set up on an Android phone.
  • Constant internet connection while building and installing the project.
