Gratitude for Teachers must Always run amongst Us!
No matter what we do in life, where we have reached and the success we have achieved, a lot of the credit behind this goes to our teachers, our mentors who have always been the torchbearers towards our career path. Every year 5th September is being celebrated as Teachers' Day within the country. An especially dedicated day for the teachers and their contributions in shaping one's life, Teachers day commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a Bharat Ratna recipient along with being the first Vice President and India’s second President. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was born on September 5, 1888 was a revered academician, one of India's finest and most distinguished scholars of comparative religion and philosophy. World Teacher’s Day can have a much positive impact on the growth of the quality of education while this acknowledges both – the ones who have chosen to teach as well as the ones who tend to take on this crucial task.
As per the UNESCO statistics show, we are over 25.8 million teachers short to provide every child with a primary education by 2030. So, there is still a lot of work to be done.
Today, teachers, instructors, professors, even tutors and learning coordinators are amongst the many people who are picking up the teaching profession to help others learn and improve their lives. From the daily work at kindergartens, primary schools and high schools to colleges and other higher educational institutions, teachers and trainers from across the world have vested their great patience, hard work, rigor and deep dedication to ensure that well-trained students can become the best version with the right support. However, despite so many teachers who are dedicated to the cause, there is a constant need of more people to step up and choose the teaching profession. As per the UNESCO statistics show, we are over 25.8 million teachers short to provide every child with a primary education by 2030. So, clearly, there is still a lot of work to be done.
Teaching and learning can take place in numerous forms and the rapid growth of the Internet and technology has given us a lot of. As Bill Gates said, “Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting the kids to work together and motivating them, the teacher is the most important.” With the rapid growth of internet and technology, there have been a lot of digital instruments to ensure that teaching and learning continues long after we have left the traditional school building. Amid the Covid19 pandemic, technology has bridging the gap between teachers and students.
With Education being the most powerful weapon that can be used to change the world, it is a hugely powerful weapon and that’s why on should take some time to celebrate World Teachers’ Day—to acknowledge, appreciate and thank our mentor, our teachers who have been imparting knowledge across the world around us. October 5 is the day to celebrate the educators who once inspired you in ways as a student, it is a day to show gratitude to those teachers who mentored you and pulled you up. This is the day to reflect on the teachers who have been there for learning moments and the memories that define you and your behaviour, that define your classroom experiences!
