1. Mechanical Engineer

With a knowledge of force, energy and motion, you would use your knowledge and skill to develop and test mechanical devices, as a mechanical engineer.

2.  Civil Engineer

Your duties would include preparing cost estimates, submitting planning requests, ensuring regulations are compliant, analysing soil tests, and determining the most effective building materials.

3. Industrial Engineer

An industrial engineer’s main duties are to evaluate and improve production duties within the industrial sector. Working in this role, you would strive to improve efficiency and eliminate waste.

Your responsibilities would include evaluating production schedules, developing management control systems, and lowering costs.

To work as an industrial engineer, you will typically need a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a similar degree, such as electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or general engineering.

5. Marine Engineer

6. Petroleum Engineer

Petroleum engineers work with equipment that is used to dig beneath the surface of the earth to extract oil and gas.

Working in this role, your tasks could include experimenting with new technologies to access and extract oil and gas or improving existing equipment.

As a petroleum engineer, you would oversee drilling operations and work closely with geologists.

If you want to work as a petroleum engineer, you will need to successfully complete an undergraduate engineering degree and gain at least four years’ worth of work experience. You will also need to pass an industry accredited examination.

7. Nuclear Engineer

In this fascinating job, you would work with nuclear energy and radiation.

Your duties and responsibilities could include researching the properties of nuclear energy and developing systems and processes to use the resource to its best ability and developing industrial or medical uses for radioactive materials.

Nuclear engineers must have a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering or a related engineering field.
