UGC plans to merge CUET, and JEE, as ‘one entrance exam'. The University Grants Commission has recently announced its plans to combine NEET and JEE Main with CUET aiming to bring all entrance exams under a single umbrella. As per the speculations, it is believed that JEE Main might merge with the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Though there is no official statement regarding the same, it is not clear at the moment whether CUET would also be conducted like the JEE Main.
If this change is deployed, the students would get two opportunities to improve their scores and would get the option to appear for either or both examinations. In the case of both, the better of the two scores would be considered while granting admissions.
Earlier, UGC announced that admission to UG degree programs would be made based on CUET 2022 score. All 45 Central Universities were also considering the CUET score for UG as well as PG admissions.
NTA conducts Joint Entrance Examination (Main paper 1) for granting admission into popular courses like B.E/B. Tech courses are offered at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating state governments. JEE Main paper 2 is held for offering to B.Arch/B.Plan programs. Also, JEE Main is an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admission to IITs.
Some of the ways to prepare for the JEE Main exam include:
Refer to the NCERT Books: The candidates must begin their preparations by referring to the NCERT books, as they lay the foundation for JEE preparation. Since more than 60-70% of the JEE Main paper is based on NCERT books, it is important to refer to these books in the beginning. Post completing the preparation from NCERT books, start referring to other books.
Refer to Right Reference Books: Reference books are important in helping students prepare from the basic to the advanced level. Some of the best books for JEE Main Physics include Concepts of physics (Vol. 1 and 2) by H.C Verma, Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick & walker, etc. Some of the best maths books for JEE Mains include Objective Mathematics by R D Sharma, Plane Trigonometry by S L Loney, The Elements Of Coordinate Geometry by S L Loney, Algebra by Dr S K Goyal Arihant Publications, etc.
Solve JEE Previous’ Year Papers & Mock Tests: The students must solve more JEE Main previous question papers and mock tests to an idea of the kind of questions asked in the exam. Doing this, helps candidates know the type of questions asked in the exam.
Practice Daily: The more you revise, the better it will be for you. The revision helps students know all the important facts, formulas, key dates, etc., improving their learning skills and accuracy. Also, pen down all the important concepts to revise them later.
So all the candidates preparing for the JEE Main 2023, must keep on referring to the official website for the latest updates.
